Double-sided knitting patterns

Bilateral patterns with knitting needles vary in complexity of execution. Today we will talk about a simple pattern that resembles "steps". The alternation of the front and back loops in a certain sequence is the secret of this beautiful pattern. These “steps” are ideal for knitting scarves and snoods, since the pattern looks interesting on both sides - the fabric is voluminous and warm.

Pattern Description:

Type on the knitting needles the number of loops a multiple of 4 plus 2 for symmetry plus 2 hem. By default, edge loops are at the beginning and end of a row.

1 row : 2 persons, * 2 out, 2 persons. * Repeat until the end of the row.

2 row (front) : * 2 stitches together from the wrong side to the front walls and, without removing them from the knitting needle, knit the first loop again from the wrong side.

Knit the next 2 stitches together with the front for the back walls and, without removing them from the knitting needle, knit the first stitch again with the front for the back wall. * Repeat until the end of the row.

3 row : * 2 front loops knit together the front for the rear walls and, without removing them from the knitting needles, we knit the first loop again with the front for the rear wall. The next 2 wrong loops are knitted together on the wrong side of the front walls and, without removing them from the knitting needle, the first loop is again wrong on the front wall. *

Repeat until the end of the row.

Alternate 2 and 3 rows.

It is easy to remember, since there are only 2 types of loops that alternate in all rows.

Learning to knit double-sided patterns with knitting needles in a step-by-step mic: a winter scarf

If you are a beginner needlewoman, and can not decide on a pattern for a scarf, then a simple but effective option is a bandoleer pattern. By and large, it is a fairly voluminous double-sided elastic band, and it fits with facial loops, plus some loops do not knit. The scheme is as follows.

How to knit. Dial loops, their number must be a multiple of 4. Three loops are added for symmetrical pattern, plus two edge loops. The first row - three front loops, remove one loop not knitted, the working thread before knitting, three front loops. The second row - one front loop, remove one loop not knitted, the working thread before knitting, one front, two front, one loop to remove, the thread before knitting, one front. Further knitting is an alternation of the first and second row, and the result is this pattern:

In addition to such options, for knitting winter things with a double-sided pattern, a “pearl” pattern in variations of different sizes is suitable.

It fits according to the algorithm: The first row is to remove the edge loop, one front loop, one wrong side. The second row is the edge loop, knit the front loop over the front loop, respectively, over the back loop. The third row is the edge loop, the front loop is the wrong loop, and the front loop is the wrong one. The fourth row is the edge loop, over the front loop - front, over the wrong side. Then repeat from the first row.

The herringbone pattern is perfect for a snout - it is quite neutral, and equally well suited for both male and female snud. You can knit such a snood on circular knitting needles, and you can also knit on straight ones, since a simple, even cloth knits, which is then sewn into the pipe. Yarn for a snout is usually taken thick, knitting needles - 4.5. The dimensions of the canvas are 40 cm by 64 cm, that is, the finished snud will be 40 by 32 cm, this size will allow you to wear the item not only as a scarf, but also as a hood.

Knitting process. First, a sample is knitted, according to which the number of loops in one centimeter of knitting is determined. If there are two loops in one centimeter, therefore, for knitting a snud, you need to dial 80 loops. In order to avoid bending of the edges, in addition to the edge loop, you need to run one wrong side, one front and one wrong side loop from each edge. Rapport drawing - ten loops. From the total number of 80 loops, take four from each edge, divide the resulting result by 10. It turns out seven rapports, two loops in the remainder, which can be neglected. Therefore, it is typed on the knitting needles: one edge loop, one wrong side, one right side, wrong side, seven repeat patterns, wrong side, right side, wrong side. Next, it fits in with the scheme.

After the fabric is tied to the desired length, sew it into a ring, for this use a knitted seam. Braid the thread of the initial row, and retake the loops on an additional knitting needle. Place the ends of the canvas one above the other. Open loops of the snood are connected by a thread - insert the needle into the first and second loops of the lower part of the snood, stretch. Then the needle is driven into the second and third loops of the lower part of knitting, and then according to the same principle. The working thread needs to be pulled a little, restoring the normal tension of the threads. The result is such a snood.

For plaids, a pattern is usually chosen that would optimally combine beauty and moderate material consumption - after all, even making a small plaid, for example, for a newborn, a lot of yarn will be used. If you are still not confident in your abilities, and are afraid to take up the large-scale canvas of a large plaid, you can start with a plaid for the baby. In addition, large rugs are usually knitted in a more economical way.

Another version of a children's plaid combines two two-sided patterns. For a 105 x 105 cm plaid, you will need about ten skeins of yarn of 50 g each. Knits on the needles number 3.5. Typed 184 loops (including edge). The finished blanket is as follows:

Along the edge of the pattern called "muddle". It fits as follows: the number of loops should be a multiple of 3, plus two edge loops. The first row is an edge loop, knit three loops together with the front for the back wall, without removing them from the left knitting needle, make a crochet and again knit the same loops. Knit this way to the end of the row. The second row - an edge loop, two wrong loops, knit the following two loops as follows: first knit the second loop on the wrong side, and without removing it from the knitting needle, knit the first loop on the wrong side. Transfer both loops to the right knitting needle, 1 wrong loop, and repeat. At the end of the row is one seam loop, one hem. Alternate the first and second row.

Next is the main pattern, which is knitted according to the algorithm: the first row - two loops together, double crochet. The second, third, fourth row - all facial. Repeats from the first row.

  2. We will prepare the necessary materials for work. The rapport is three loops, so their number should have been a multiple of three.
  3. Pick 25 loops. These include two loops for symmetry and two hem.
  4. The first loop in the row, the edge, is removed without knitting.
  5. We grab the next one by the front wall and knit the front one.
  6. We carry out further the crochet in this way: we wind the knitting needle under the working thread and pick it up.
  7. We retake the next loop without knitting. Next, we knit two loops at the same time front, making a grab for the rear wall.
  8. Next, repeat this rapport: we perform the crochet, remove the loop without knitting and two at the same time the front.
  9. We knit the last two stitches of the row like this: we knit the first one on the front, and the edge - on the wrong.
  10. In the next row, repeat the pattern repeat. After the edge we knit the front loop. Next, we perform the crochet, remove the next loop without knitting, then two simultaneously knit the front.
  11. Again, repeat this rapport to the end of the row. Before the hem, we knit the front.

A selection of patterns for knitting double-sided scarves

Simple patterns

To begin with, it is better to consider the simplest patterns, which in the first stages are studied by each craftswoman who picked up the knitting needles. Such patterns consist mainly of only a certain alternation of the front and back loops, which greatly facilitates the work of the needlewoman. Note that the finished product looks thanks to them both from the face and from the inside. Therefore, any pattern presented below can be safely taken for knitting a simple scarf.

Separately, we say that the first in the series of the lightest bilateral patterns were and remain a variety of elastic bands, with them we will begin our extensive catalog.

Double-sided diagonal pattern

This beautiful scarf pattern from the front and back loops, like all double-sided patterns with knitting needles for scarves, looks the same on both sides.

The pattern is completely simple. Having knitted several rapports, you will understand the algorithm, and you will not need to consult the scheme.

Horizontal rapport is 6p., Vertical - 12r.

The extreme loops in the rows are edge. We remove the first without knitting, the last we sew with the wrong.

They are not included in the description. Repeatable fragments of the pattern are highlighted in the description with asterisks * - *.

We collect the desired number of loops and knit on the needles:

  • 1p.: * 3 persons., 3 out. *,

Bilateral braids

This pattern is created on the basis of gum 2l.x2i. In this case, the canvas is dense, prone to contraction. When choosing this pattern for knitting a scarf with knitting needles, it is necessary to knit a sample and count the number of loops to be dialed using it.

The braids are two-sided, but the appearance of the canvas on both sides is slightly different. Front side:

When doing braids, you need an additional special knitting needle, it can be replaced with an ordinary knitting needle or hook.

We carry out knitting according to the scheme or according to the description. Repeated sections of the pattern are indicated in the text by asterisks * - *.

  • 1r. (face side): * 1 l / p, 2 and / p, 1 l / p *,

Openwork patterns with knitting needles for a scarf look better if the edge of the product is underlined by the border. Especially if the scarf is wide and used by a scarf. In this case, the openwork hem is tied around the perimeter or along the ends of the product. Border scheme - see below.

And now we offer several combined patterns for knitting a scarf. Yarn of medium thickness is best suited for such ornaments. In this case, the relief of the pattern appears more clearly.

Vertical braid chain

This motif uses simple patterns for knitting - weaving of 4 loops and a pearl pattern.

The dialed number of items should be a multiple of 20p. plus 12p. Repeated sections are limited by asterisks * - *.
